Alumni Association Membership

In addition, each new graduate received a free one-year membership to the UToledo Alumni Association, unlocking a wealth of networking opportunities and access to social events with fellow Rockets. New graduates should update their contact information to ensure their Alumni Association membership card is mailed to their correct address.

The University of Alumni Association boasts 27 worldwide chapters and nine special interest affiliates. These groups connect alumni by a common interest, academic program, or geographic area through multiple activities, programs, and events to engage alumni and students and give back to UToledo.

Student Success

Among the recent graduates was Ethan Trzcinski 24’, who pursued a bachelor’s degree in law and social thought. His story is one of perseverance in the face of personal hardship. Trzcinski lost his mother to stage four colon cancer last year. Despite battling anxiety and depression, Trzcinski took on an ambitious course load of 19 credit hours.

During that time, Trzcinski became the full-time caregiver for his younger brother, Isaiah, who has special needs. Trzcinski stepped up as his primary caregiver, working 40 hours a week while also managing the demands of being a full-time student.

“My little brother is completely unable to take care of himself,” Trzcinski said. “I was hired as a caregiver and am now his primary caregiver.”

Trzcinski shared he found strength in campus organizations. He helped lead a Bible study and was an active member of the Law and Social Thought student government, building connections and finding a community that kept him grounded through the trials he faced.

Looking ahead, Trzcinski plans to take a gap year to network for internships and prepare for the Law School Admission Test. His aspirations include pursuing a career in giving back and a life of service.

“I want to try to get an internship with either the Drug Enforcement Administration or The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives,” Trzcinski said. “After the gap year, I will then go to law school and get my Doctor of Jurisprudence, or Doctor of Law. I would like to be a lawyer for either the Federal Bureau of Investigation or Judge Advocate General’s officer in the military.”

Congratulations once again to the Class of 2024!
