Your Alma Mater / Guiding Our Path Forward

By William L. Pierce ’99, ’09

The University of Toledo adopted a new strategic plan in February of this year that will serve as our guide for strengthening our University over the next five years. The plan entitled, UToledo Reimagined: Strategic Plan 2023-2028, began implementation on July 1 and we are well underway with executing many of the strategies that were shaped by many voices that are important to the University, including faculty, staff, students and alumni.

Since then, your Alumni Association has been diligently working to update our strategic plan to align with that of the University and the UToledo Foundation. While our mission has always been “to engage and connect alumni, students and friends with the University”, our new plan will guide the way we live our mission and support our alma mater. Themes of the new plan include:

  • Creating engagement opportunities that excite our alumni.
  • Supporting the enrollment of future Rockets.
  • Increasing philanthropy in support of the Alumni Association.
  • Creating experiential learning opportunities for current students through a stronger connectivity to our alumni community.

The Alumni Association Board of Trustees, in partnership with the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving staff, continue to focus on these themes while developing tactics that will help us to achieve our goals.  More information will be shared when the strategic plan is finalized later this year.

Stay safe, stay well, and thank you for your continued support!  Go Rockets!
