Dr. Richard J. Beres (Ed ’63, MEd ’72, Ph.D. ‘80), Toledo, 78. He taught mathematics at the University.
Aline S. (Gilley) Bick, Toledo, 71. She was a former clerk at the University Bookstore.
Mary Ellen (Nelms) Ditch, Maumee, Ohio, 90. She was a former MCO employee.
Dr. David I. Friedman, Boynton Beach, Fla., 76. He was a utilization review officer at MCO/MUO from 2003 to 2005.
**Dr. Thomas Gibney, Toledo, 92. He joined the faculty in 1964 and retired in 1991, but continued to teach for several years. In 1982, Gibney received one of the University’s Outstanding Teacher Awards. He was also honored by the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics with its Christofferson-Fawcett Award for Inspiration and Devotion to Education and Mathematics in 1995. An active member of the Faculty Senate, Gibney served as chair for the 1980-81 academic year. In addition, he was the Faculty Senate’s first representative on the University’s Board of Trustees.
Deborah K. Gonzalez, Toledo, 62. She worked for several years for The University of Toledo Physicians.
Kathleen “Kay” R. (Crawford) Locke (Univ Coll ‘80), Mount Vernon, Ohio, 81. She was a secretary in the Math Department.
Betty J. (Brackett) Metcalfe, Toledo, 83. She was a custodian at the University from 1994 to 2002.
