1980s

Thomas W. Curl (MBA ’84) is senior vice president in the commercial real estate division of Triumph Bank. He was recently appointed to the board of directors of Friends of Franklin Parks, a not-for-profit organization that works closely with the City of Franklin, Tenn. and its parks department.

1990s

Patrick L. Etchie (A/S ’90, MA ’94) was named an associate at Mannik & Smith Group. In this position, he works with clients to identify funding sources, as well as innovative funding strategies, for infrastructure improvements. Mannick & Smith provides civil, structural, geotechnical and transportation engineering services in 14 offices across Ohio, Michigan and West Virginia.

 


 

Daniel Franklin (UTCTC ’93) is a product manager of specialty products at Chelsea Building Products in Oakmont, Penn.

 

 

Christopher M. Zangara (Eng ’94) was named an associate at Mannik & Smith Group. In this position, he oversees the development of hydraulic modeling and permitting in accordance with requirements of the Michigan Department of Transportation and Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes & Energy. Zangara also manages the bridge team in Michigan, performing structural engineering design, inspection and load ratings for bridges, foundations, retaining walls and other transportation-related projects. Mannick & Smith provides civil, structural, geotechnical and transportation engineering services in 14 offices across Ohio, Michigan and West Virginia.

Greg V. Lesniak (MS ’95) was promoted to managing hydrogeologist at Barton & Loguidice, an engineering, planning, environmental and landscape architecture firm with offices in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey. He is a member of the firm’s sustainable planning and design practice area.

Justin Hill (MEng ’98) joined Healthpeak Properties, Inc. as senior vice president, medical office properties, in Irvine, Calif. He will be responsible for business development in Healthpeak’s Medical Office segment.

2000s

Jeremy Santoro (Law ’01) was appointed a federal judge of the Cleveland Immigration Court. He resides in Akron with his wife, Kendra, and daughters, Natalie and Ava.

Rachel Stump (MNRS ’07) joined the Litchfield Health Clinic, located in Litchfield, Mich., as a family nurse practitioner. She has been a practicing nurse practitioner for 13 years.

Nicole Bergman (HSHS ’08, MS ’10) is the marketing and operations chair for the Junior League of Columbus for 2019-20. She is the creative director at 4th and Goal Athletics, a high school sports training company in Toledo.
2010s

Dr. Sean Figy (MED ’12), a plastic surgeon, joined Great Plains Health in North Platte, Neb. He is a fellowship-trained microvascular reconstruction surgeon with Nebraska Medicine and also an assistant professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Beth L. O’Laughlin (Law ’10) is a partner at Warner Norcross + Judd LLP. She focuses her law practice on counseling families and businesses on trust and estate planning and administration, succession planning, tax matters and wealth preservation. O’Laughlin has been named a Rising Star by Michigan Super Lawyers and a Michigan Top Woman Super Lawyer.

Jamie Cannon (Bus ’05) and Courtney Cannon (Ed ’08, A/S ’08) recently welcomed their fourth little Rocket to the family. Newborn Allie joins 6-year-old Mackenzie, 4-year-old Emmett, and 2-year-old Paige. Jamie works in the building materials industry, and Courtney is a high school teacher. They reside in Geona, Ohio, and will be celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary this year.
