Your Alma Mater / Coming Home

By William L. Pierce ’99, ’09

If you’ve read any of my fall columns in the Alumni Association eMagazine, you know that this is my favorite time of year at The University of Toledo.

While I am a huge football fan and very excited about the Rockets this season, there’s a certain energy and buzz about campus that’s hard to describe. It’s more of a feeling I get when I see our campus full of students, new and returning, navigating their way to class. Or, when I see that the leaves are changing thus making one of the most beautiful campuses in the country even more picturesque. Perhaps it’s the ever-growing excitement of Homecoming quickly approaching.

Homecoming at UToledo is a cherished tradition that fosters a sense of community and pride among our students, alumni and the broader University community. It’s a time for celebrating our history and achievements while strengthening the bonds between past and present generations of students as we prepare for the future.

I hope you will take the opportunity to come back to campus for Homecoming and enjoy the many activities planned for the weekend. Once a Rocket, always a Rocket and we look forward to welcoming you back home!

Stay safe, stay well and thank you for your continued support! Go Rockets!
