Duhart (center)

*Myron Duhart (’96 JD) received the 2023 Distinguished Service Award by ABLE, LAWO, and the Toledo Bar Association to honor the support, service, and encouragement to fight for equal justice.

Juanita Price (’80 ME) received the Lifetime Achievement Award from The National Council for Mental Wellbeing. This award recognizes individuals for their tireless efforts and commitment to improving the lives of those living with mental health and substance use challenges.

1970s

*John Roe (’75) was inducted into the Barnesville Area Education Foundation’s Hall of Fame this past July for his achievements at Barnesville High School, UToledo and his career.

1980s

Jeffrey Crilly (’83) Crilly ’83, a senior software engineer at Apple, photographed a supernova in the Pinwheel Galaxy this past May. His discovery caught the attention of the CBS affiliate in the Bay area, who featured it on their 6 p.m. news.

**Bertie Greer (’86, ’89 MBA) will join UMass Lowell on Nov. 1 as the next dean of the Manning School of Business.

Hoffman

**Kristi Hoffman (’86) received the YMCA Milestone 2023 Volunteerism Award. A UToledo Neff college advisory board member, Hoffman was considered for the award based on her significant impact on the UToledo Neff College of Business and Innovation, the Girl Scouts and the Toledo business community.

1990s

Avendt

Alison Avendt (’99 MBA) was hired as the new as president of Mercy Health-Perrysburg Hospital. Prior to this new role, Avendt served as chief operating officer at McLaren St. Luke’s Hospital, which officially closed in May. Mercy acquired the property and assets.

Ida Hatoum (’97) was appointed as chief people officer of Abivax. In this role, Hatoum will lead the
organizational strategy to build and strengthen the Abivax team in the United States and Europe across all functions.

2000s

Garvey

Kilian Garvey (’02 MA, ’04 PhD) recently earned tenure at the University of Rio Grande.

*Cynthia Shunk (’04, ’08 MLS) was a guest on the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities Works podcast, where she explained her philosophy on persistence and discusses the rewarding job she currently holds.

2010s

Koffi Akakpo (’17 PhD) has been named president of Kentucky State University in Frankfort. Akakpo was previously the president of Bluegrass Community and Technical College in Lexington.

Kyle Boyers (’17), with business partner and fellow UToledo classmate, Connor Scott (’17, ’20 MBA), opened Ridge and River, a new outdoor equipment and apparel retail shop. The store will be the only one of its kind in the area and is expected to be a destination for outdoor enthusiasts throughout the region. Ridge and River is also partnering with Metroparks Toledo to donate 1% of the store’s revenue to youth recreation programs.

Andrea Brookhart (’10, ’10, ’12 PharmD) received an Under 40 Award from the Ohio Pharmacists Association in recognition of her leadership, excellence and vision in the practice of pharmacy.

Abby Geletzke (’10) was recognized as a ‘Top Physician Under 40′ by the Pennsylvania Medical Society.

Heather Wojton (’13 MA, ’15 PhD) was named an Alexandria Chamber of Commerce 40 under 40 Honoree. Wojton and the other honorees were selected for their professional accomplishments, scholastic achievement, community impact and personal story.
