Support the Class of 2020 on May 9
First and foremost, to our Rocket alumni and other supporters reading this, I hope you and your families are healthy and safe. I’m proud of everything our students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni and so many others in our community have done and are doing to ensure we are resilient – together – throughout this COVID-19 pandemic.
It is so important, especially during these uncertain times, to find ways to keep up our most valued traditions and opportunities to celebrate. So, on May 9, when we were planning to recognize the accomplishments of our Class of 2020 with a commencement ceremony in the Glass Bowl, we will instead be welcoming our newest alumni through a virtual ceremony.
I know Rocket Nation has great words of encouragement and advice to share with our graduating class. I encourage you to participate in our virtual ceremony with us. Use the hashtag #UToledo20 on May 9 to share photos, videos or messages to graduates using your favorite social media platform. We will be incorporating those messages into our virtual commencement celebrations online at utoledo.edu/commencement.
